Are you wondering how to get your business onto those cool Google Maps?

You need to build a “Local Business Center” by clicking here and filling out all of the info about your business.

You will need to have an actual business address to submit — if this is your home address you may want to think twice about submitting it for everyone to see on the Internet.

After you submit your business address to Google make sure that you include your address on your website — Google likes to see the same information in multiple places — it calms their nerves and makes them more confident that they have good information for their customers — the searchers.

    Hey Russ,
I always wanted to know how certain businesses got listed there…hmmm…very interesting. I am guessing that google places your business in a particular category based on the title of your biz? Thanks.
    Jennifer

  3. @jennifer — When you go through the process of creating a Local Business Center you will choose categories and keywords — this more than anything will determine the placement of your biz.

Thanks for the tiny action that could have a mighty payoff!

People like to know as much as they can before buying products and services. If Google shows them where they are, their business will benefit.
