[Video] Wanna Trade?

One of the most powerful books I have ever read is called Permission Marketing by Seth Godin.    It is an oldie (by Internet Marketing standards) but a goodie.  Seth talks about Interruption Marketers vs Permission Marketers in this classic marketing book.

In this short (2 mins) video piece I discuss how Permission Marketers can get the permission of their prospects to continue the conversation.

This type of marketing requires a TRADE; Marketer provides valuable content in exchange for the prospects permission to continue the conversation.  Permission from the prospect is given in the form of:

  • A subscription to an email list
  • Following the marketer on Twitter
  • “Friending” them on Facebook
  • Subscribing to the marketers RSS feed
  • etc, etc

In all of the above cases, the prospect has opted to continue the conversation by giving the marketer permission.

  1. Russ,

This is a great post. I am happy that I got a chance to find out more about Permission Marketers and Interruption Marketers in the last MeetUP as well.

    Keep it coming!
